Storm Geomatics surveyors crossed the Irish Sea to survey a number of lakes in Northern Ireland. Sixteen lakes were surveyed overall to determine their volumes in order to make an assessment for management and maintenance purposes. Storm Geomatics won this project in a three way tender against other companies proving once again that their surveys represent the best value in terms of quality and price in the UK.

Storm Geomatics returned to GeoBusiness, a big show and conference for the Geomatics Industry, on 27th and 28th of May. Our Company exhibited at the venue and over the two days all of our river surveyors visited the show. GeoBusiness is a great opportunity to meet new people within the Geomatics Industry and see the latest innovative technology. We held workshops for our iPhone app, PhotoMAPP, which attracted an above average sized audience with a strong presence from the Ordnance Survey.

As River Surveyors we thought it was about time to enter into the Lions Charity Raft Race. We are raising money for The Shakespeare Hospice, a local charity to our office. The Shakespeare Hospice provides free care for families affected by serious illness. The Hospice receives very little funding from the NHS, any donations from the public can really make a difference.

Catherine and Lauren, both recent graduates from Aberystwyth University, went back to Aberystwyth University's Department of Geography and Earth Sciences to deliver two presentations to current geography students about land surveying. Catherine and Lauren were able to advise the students on how to become a land surveyor after graduating and answered questions from the students on a career in land surveying from the perspective of a Trainee and a Surveyor.
