Photo Mapp in RICS top “11 Killer Apps”
This month has been a big month for Photo Mapp. Recent research into the use of our iPhone app has shown it being increasingly used by the graffiti removal industry. Photo Mapp is ideal for this as it shows the subject and location of the graffiti, allowing staff to mobilise to it and remove it in a quick and cost-effective way. Storm have also used it extensively in field reconnaissance, allowing surveyors to prepare effectively for the correct field conditions. Furthermore, Photo Mapp was listed in the RICS article “11 Killer Apps for Surveyors” (http://goo.gl/iwgu1L). To download Photo Mapp and start using it yourself,[nbsp]click here.
Senior Surveyor, Jon Teall has been in Hebden Bridge surveying the River Calder this month. As part of the survey, Jon used our laser scanner to scan a large area of riverbank, producing a highly detailed point cloud (snapshot below) that even captured our boat! The importance of our work was highlighted in November when high river levels struck, causing floods at several locations along the Calder, including at Hebden Bridge (http://goo.gl/7fZqXp).
