Lions Charity Raft Race
As River Surveyors we thought it was about time to enter into the Lions Charity Raft Race. We are raising money for The Shakespeare Hospice, a local charity to our office. The Shakespeare Hospice provides free care for families affected by serious illness. The Hospice receives very little funding from the NHS, any donations from the public can really make a difference. Our River Surveyors are designing and building their own Raft to race down the 7.5 miles of the picturesque River Avon. The Storm Team are hoping to raise huge amounts of money for The Shakespeare Hospice; any support you can offer us is greatly appreciated. Watch out for news on our Raft build on our Facebook Page and Twitter! Visit our Just Giving page if you would like to donate to this great cause!
A team of Storm Geomatics surveyors undertook a bathymetric survey in Cambridgeshire. The survey was carried out to define the topography of the lake beds and to calculate the reservoir volumes of five lakes on the Fen Drayton Nature Reserve. To gather the data, one of our RYA Level II qualified skippers piloted the boat while the surveyors used an Ohmex Sonarmite echo sounder and a Leica GS14 GNSS Antenna to record the bed levels for each of the five lakes.
